I am looking for information on William Ervin Chaney. It is said that he traded horses for land (640 acres). Then donated part of that land to other settlers. In doing so he helped to establish Garden City, TX. I am looking for any information to confirm or disprove this story. Can you help? Or do you know anyone who could?
